TF420, a very compact 20W laser marker

With the TF420 fibre laser marking solution, Technifor have brought out a unit that is twice as compact as the previous generations, while keeping the same marking quality level, and providing a writing speed of up to 2.5 m per second, and a skipping speed of up to 5 m/s. It is designed for applications involving medium to large production runs: motor vehicles, medical fields, electrical or mechanical components, etc.

XF510Cp: very-high-speed marking by micro-percussion

The TECHNIFOR XF510Cp micro-percussion marking machine is the world’s fastest in its category. It can mark up to 10 characters per second, twice as fast as the preceding generations. It is also twice as compact and has multiple communication interfaces, making it particularly easy to integrate. The XF510Cp is the ideal solution for precision marking applications in mass production: automotive, locks and keys, pneumatic components, electronic components, sensors, etc.

Westermo Teleindustri AB

High speed Ethernet extender with build in switch

The Westermo DDW-220 is an Ethernet extender enhanced with a built-in four port Ethernet switch which allows this one unit to be used to create entire Ethernet solutions. Existing twisted pair cables can be used to establish a high speed remote connection between two Ethernet networks. With transfer rates up to 5.7 Mbits/s and with an operating distance of up to 10 kilometres at lower data rates, this is an easy-to-install alternative to fibre optic or radio systems when linking remote Ethernet networks. The DDW-220 uses a transient blocking unit on each DSL line to provide both over-current and over-voltage protection on the line allowing it to handle indirect lightning strike transients, power induction and short circuit problems.

Corus selected by Eurotunnel to increase rail life by 50%

The Channel Tunnel is the most heavily used railway line in Europe, with annual traffic of more than 100 million tons, which causes rapid degradation of the rails both in the tunnel and in the terminal loops. Studies initiated by Corus with its bainitic and MHH extra-hard heat-treated rails are aimed at increasing their life by 50%.

Electricité de France uses Maple to reduce secondary circuit risks in nuclear power plants

Maple, the world leading mathematics software was used by Electricité de France (EDF)’s National Centre of Nuclear Equipment (CNEN) to develop, validate and research a predictive maintenance software program. Maple is developed by Maplesoft, a provider of high performance software tools for engineering, science and mathematics. The EDF software, called BRT-CICERO, is used in the development of inspection programmes for pipe networks in the engine rooms of French nuclear power plants.

Maple is used for micro motor design at Rotalink

ROTALINK employed Maple, the symbolic mathematics software for engineering applications from Canadian developer Maplesoft, to simulate and design a new product for its AC miniature motor range. It contributes to reducing time-to-market and development costs of the product.

REDEX

REDEX-ANDANTEX

Could a company specialised in mechanical transmission components be happy with the emergence of low cost countries? This is the case for REDEX-ANDANTEX, which has been able to build successfully on a family shareholder base for several generations, by putting innovation and quality to the fore, and by opening up to international markets at a very early stage in its history; all these key factors of success are usually attributed to the industrial companies on the German side of the Rhine.
