VERLINDE EUROBLOC VT for the automobile industry

SOMIRAM, a VERLINDE lifting equipment integrator, has developed two new hoisting units for PSA Peugeot Citroën using standard VERLINDE EUROBLOC VT components.

The new SOMIRAM 2 x 500kg monorail units developed for PSA with standard VERLINDE EUROBLOC VT components are used to lift car bodies at PSA’s Sochaux production site in eastern France. To keep the body horizontal, a simultaneous two-point lifting system was specially designed on a monorail using a fixed hoisting mechanism. The installation can handle a cycle per minute with six startups per cycle and a constant load of between 50% and 90% of maximum safe working capacity.
The units can withstand a production rate of 60 cycles per hour of lifting, transferring and depositing, for two seven-hour shifts each weekend.

The trolleys were developed from VERLINDE VT3 HPR (short headroom) hoist steering flanges. The winches are based on VERLINDE VT2 electric chain hoists with 2 cable outlets and a VT202 load limiter.
