Faiveley has won a contract with Siemens Mobility
Siemens Mobility has awarded Faiveley a contract to provide 3660 on-board doors and over 1500 HVAC units for the AM08 Brussels project.
Faiveley has won a €35m contract to supply 3660 on-board door systems for 305 three car trains. 12 on-board doors and 12 foot steps (including two sliding ones) will be installed onto each train. First delivery of 60 door and foot step systems will take place on 5 prototype trains between August 2009 and March 2010. Delivery will continue between October 2010 and December 2014.
Siemens Mobility has also awarded Faiveley with a contract to supply the systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). In total 915 units for the passenger saloon and 610 driver cabin units will be fitted on the trains to be operated by the SNCB (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Belges) for the Brussels RER, the regional express network for the capital area.
Faiveley reinforces its position in the Belgian market by winning these two contracts and Siemens Mobility demonstrates its confidence in working with the world's leading supplier of air conditioning and door systems for rail vehicules.
Faiveley is able to deliver despite a very tight schedule thanks to its fast reactivity and excellent collaboration with Siemens Mobility.
