Major irrigation projects from Imperia to Venice

In 2008, in the Italian Triveneto region, from Imperia to Venice, more than 25,000 m of FLOWTITE glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) piping was laid as part of irrigation projects. The construction projects not only helped to preserve the environment, they also considerably increased the levels of agricultural productivity in the region. As irrigation affects the water table due to the wells dug, most of the water currently used comes from mountain streams or rivers. This avoids lowering the water table and cuts project costs.

Chmielnickij’s water supply

The city of Chmielnickij (pop.: 300,000) in the region of Podolia, has long experienced problems with supplying and upgrading sufficient amounts of potable water. The current pressurized water supply system, built many years ago using ferroconcrete pipes, is now outdated. Constant failures of the main bus supplying the city’s water have carried the risk of suspending the water supply for the entire city. It was thus necessary to launch a new water supply system in order to significantly improve the reliability for the city. AMITECH POLAND has won the contract for the works.

Aramo-Quirós Drinking Water Treatment Plant at Oviedo

Due to its many advantages, the construction company DRACE MEDIOAMBIENTE S.A. chose to use GRP FLOWTITE piping instead of ductile iron and metal-coated reinforced concrete piping for the new drinking water treatment plant at Oviedo after having conducted many hydraulic studies with characteristics provided by AMITECH SPAIN.

FLOWTITE™, GRP pipe systems for water, sewage and industrial applications

FLOWTITE technology has been developed to provide many industries all around the world with low cost, long term piping solutions. They are 10 times lighter than a concrete pipe, as well as easy to handle and install. These GRP Pipe systems are corrosion-free and have a proven resistance to acidic environments.

PRAGUE RING PROJECT

Amitech Germany, a member of the AMIANTIT Group, has been awarded a major con-tract concerning the supply of approximately 20 km FLOWTITE GRP pipes utilized for the drainage system of the new highway by-pass around Prague. This new highway is the most important project in this sector, not only in the Czech Republic but also in Central Europe. The entire pipeline length of the project is roughly 83km - as with many modern infrastructures, it contains several elevated roadways (about one third).
